As an owner and operator of nearly 100 apartment communities nationwide, our vertically integrated structure allows us to bring value to our industry, team members, and residents through our hands-on approach to building relationships, maintaining, and growing our teams, and serving the residents living in our communities.
GRE provides a place to call home for more than 28,000 residents nationwide. Over the next two years, GRE will deliver more than 1,100 new apartment homes to the greater Seattle and Phoenix markets.

How We Work
GRE’s focus is always on the long term. Our thoughtful approach to the business makes us a user-friendly co-investment vehicle for our global real estate partners and an alternative to traditional opportunity-fund models.
While we have purchased larger assets, we focus on the middle market—assets in the $25 million to $250 million range. This allows us to maintain the institutional quality of our real estate holdings while maximizing opportunities and flexibility for long-term investment returns.
Where We Invest
Goodman Real Estate acquires real estate properties across North America. We target a variety of investment opportunities, from conventional market-rate deals to transactions that require more creativity than the general marketplace can offer.
Before acquiring a property, we diligently determine how best to create value and carefully forecast profitable investment scenarios. With that in mind, we select investments with these characteristics:
Special situations where capital constraints or the markets at large prevent an operating partner from leveraging an asset’s full potential.
Properties with upside potential through repositioning, conversion, or redevelopment, where we can add value with our industry relationships and experience, while often preserving historic structures and maintaining a wide range of affordability.
Unique locations with attractive valuations providing above-average, sustainable yields and favorable long-term prospects that may be currently lower in value due to market conditions.
